Jesus is the “Master Reminder.” He was always reminding his disciples on earth. In Mark 8, they had forgotten bread and were fretting. Jesus said, are you so quick to forget? Don’t you remember the miracle of the bread, when I fed the 5000? Jesus says in 1 Cor. 11, “Do this in remembrance of me.” We keep forgetting the love of Christ don’t we? We are prone to forget that He is the God of Psalm 103, “who forgives all your transgressions… who crowns you with his unrelenting love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” As we receive the bread and the cup, let’s remember Christ’s love. Are you experiencing his radical love? Are you eager to come into his presence? He’s invited us to worship. Psalm 103 says “Forget not all his benefits.” God remembers too. Psa 103:14, “For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.”
There are some things we should be forgetting: Phil 3:13-14, “forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let’s forget your past sins as God has. Let’s forget your failures and your what ifs! Let’s get our eyes off our ourselves and remember all we are and have is in Jesus. “Press on to the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Strain forward to see that Christ is coming soon! Strain forward for the grace he has for you. Don’t be looking back, press on to the goal of the high calling you have in Christ!
